Elgin Industries, a leading Tier One supplier of original equipment engine and chassis components, recently received the highest supplier rating through the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. Elgin was recognized for the third consecutive year as a John Deere “Partner-Level Supplier” for its quality and customer service achievements. Elgin manufactures a broad range of internal engine components for John Deere operations in Waterloo, Iowa, as well as Mexico, France and Argentina.
Suppliers participating in the Achieving Excellence Program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and “wavelength,” a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
“John Deere is a globally respected manufacturer and one of the most popular brands in the agricultural and industrial categories. We are proud that they consider us a trusted business partner that offers exceptional product quality and service,” said Elgin President Bill Skok.
In addition to Deere & Company, Elgin serves such leading engine and vehicle manufacturers as Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Harley-Davidson, Mack, Navistar and Polaris. The company’s OE-quality components are also available through an extensive network of replacement parts distributors.
Elgin operates advanced engineering, manufacturing and product distribution operations in Elgin, Ill. The company has received certificates of registration to the ISO/TS 16949:2009 Quality Management and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management systems and has attained the Ford Q1 Quality Certification.
