Marx Group was a winner in the 2016 Automotive Communications Awards announced last week during the 2016 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas. The agency earned the award in the business-to-business category for best “Logo Design/Usage” for its work on the SERVICE-EDU logo.

Launched in 2016, SERVICE-EDU is an education program designed for professional automotive technicians. Its mission is to equip technicians with advanced education in automotive repair from a group of leading component manufacturers in the industry.

“It was an honor to accept this award on behalf of the companies that helped form SERVICE-EDU,” said Steffanie Savine, Marx Group’s vice president of sales and accounts. “SERVICE-EDU’s unique logo design with its brand message, ‘Knowledge is Power,’ was designed to motivate technicians to expand their knowledge. The hand clenching the wrench, a symbol of strength and power, represents the brand’s promise.”

Marx Group was among those recognized during the 19th annual Women in Auto Care (formerly Car Care Council Women’s Board) news conference and reception, which took place at The Venetian, Tuesday, Nov. 1. The awards applaud companies/agencies that provide automotive information through outstanding advertising, marketing and public relations efforts.

Women in Auto Care is comprised of auto care professionals dedicated to providing opportunities, education and career leadership to women in the auto care industry.

Also during AAPEX, Marx Group chairman and co-CEO Tom Marx earned his Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designation from Northwood University’s University of the Aftermarket. The University of the Aftermarket’s AAP and MAAP designation programs recognize long-term commitment to the aftermarket and professional development through programs and courses offered by the University and its association partners. Developed in partnership with Auto Care Association, AASA, AWDA and Northwood University, these programs highlight both the educational and professional achievements of each recipient and, by extension, demonstrate the resulting competitive advantage for their employers and the aftermarket industry.

Marx’s MAAP certificate was presented by University of the Aftermarket director Brian Cruickshank, MAAP, at Northwood University’s annual graduation and awards luncheon Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Venetian.
