Permatex Introduces Gasket Dressing and Flange Sealant, New Breakthrough in Gasketing Technology

Company says innovative polyester urethane formulation resists gasoline and shop fluids, remains flexible at high temperatures.

Permatex has announced the addition of a new gasketing sealant to its line of gasket makers and sealants. Permatex PermaShield Gasket Dressing and Flange Sealant is designed to provide superior fluid resistance and also withstand extreme temperature changes without hardening. Its non-setting, non-hardening gel formulation stays tacky, allowing for easy parts removal and repositioning without the need for reapplication, the company says.

According to Permatex, PermaShield is ideal in high-performance and high-vibration applications because it seals surface imperfections between metal parts. With an operating temperature range of -60 °F to 500 °F (-50 °C to 260 °C), this advanced polyester urethane compound resists common engine fluids, including oil, gasoline, ethanol, water and antifreeze. It also prevents contamination from moisture and dust, the company adds.
