Crack Detection Aerosols
Find Surface cracks in Various Metals Without Electricity or Special Lights
Alumni-Chek Sprays from Goodson Tools and Supplies allow users to find surface cracks in aluminum and cast iron without electricity or special lights. The Alumni-Chek crack
detection method is ideal for aluminum but also works on brass, cast
iron, steel, crbide and Stellite. Even the tiniest cracks will show as
bright red.
System consists of three parts:
Alumni-Chek Cleaner - AC-1 is used to prepare the surface you're testing.
Alumni-Chek Penetrant - AC-2 is applied to the area
being tested. Allow the penetrant dye to stand for 1-5 minutes for
normal cracks and up to 20 minutes for extremely fine cracks. Wipe off
excess dye to prevent false readings. If the dye has hardened, spray
lightly with cleaner and then wipe off excess die.
Alumni-Chek Developer - AC-3 is used to develop the
dye. Apply the Developer in several light applications rather than one
heavy application. Allow the developer to dry for 30 to 60 seconds then
inspect the area for the cracks that will show bright red.
Alumni-Chek is available in 12 ounce cans. For information visit www.goodson.com or call 800-533-8010.
