Don't forget to figure the cost of the accountant, and running a machine for an hour costs more than having the machine do nothing.I run a one man (me) shop at a parts store. I have actually kept track of actuall time required to do a ton of different jobs. I do it on almost every job, flywheels, rotors, 32 valve v-8 heads. I believe if everybody did this on every third or tenth cylinder head, and priced their work accordingly, we would all be better off.
