Savannah, GA to Host 64th Annual PERA Conference

Southern Hospitality to be theme of convention, September 24-26, 2009.

Since 1733, Savannah, GA, has been welcoming visitors with genuine Southern hospitality. This fall, the Production Engine Remanufacturers Association will join Bagger Vance, Max Cady and Forrest Gump as visitors to this beautiful city for the 64th Annual PERA Fall Conference, September 24-26. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Savannah on the Historic Riverfront.

An assortment of professional and technical seminars will be held along with a wide range of social and networking opportunities for engine remanufacturers and their spouses.

The objective of the PERA annual conference and spring tech meeting is to provide an arena for the development and sharing of ideas and experiences conducive to the advancement and improvement of the industry and the individual businesses. The programs are devised to stress the importance of good communication between all levels of the industry as well as the general public; the necessity for continual education in order to remain alert to changing conditions in the international business scene; and the significance of maintaining proper management philosophies which will perpetuate the member companies on a profitable and productive basis.

Speakers are expected to include Tom Jensen, Veridean Technology Solutions; Eve Lerman from the U.S. Department of Commerce; and industry veteran Dave Caracci. The final slate of seminars for Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, is still being finalized.

Optional activities on Thursday, September 24, will include golf at Savannah’s Wilmington Island Club or an Old Town Trolley tour and lunch at Lady and Sons. On Friday, a tour of the Mercer House and the Owens-Thomas house as well as lunch at the famous Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room will be offered. The group will have dinner on Friday night at Savannah’s Olde Pink House
