SuperFlow Releases New Improved Servo Motor for SuperFlow Dyno Users

An improved servo valve for SF-901 and SF-902 engine dynamometer users – featuring a new submersible design, a higher torque motor and a much more durable potentiometer – is now available from SuperFlow Technologies Group.

According to SuperFlow officials, the new design recently underwent extensive in-house testing, which included completely submerging the new servo motor in water and continuously operating it for an entire week without interruption or failure. Wiring is totally sealed from the motor to the connector to make it more fuel- and oil-resistant. In addition, improved printed circuit board componentry significantly increases the reliability of the wiring connection to the motor and potentiometer. (SuperFlow does not recommend intentionally submerging the new servo valve, but customers can now be assured it can continue to operate if it accidentally does occur.)

The improved potentiometer features a rugged, more durable design. It is mounted directly to the motor and sealed for protection from moisture and other contaminants. It is built to withstand engine vibrations and rated for use as a direct engine mount.

The holding torque and stepping torque of the new motor have also been increased. In fact, depending on the motion of the motor, SuperFlow reports that the stepping torque has increased by at least 50%.
