Comp Cams, RHS Renew IMCA Engine Builder Awards
Comp Cams, RHS renew awards for six IMCA national champs, engine builders
National champions in six
IMCA divisions and the manufacturers who power them to those titles receive special awards from Comp Cams and Racing Head Service for a third consecutive season.
Top drivers in the IMCA Modified, IMCA Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMod classes, as well as their respective engine builders, all receive $500 product certificates, good toward any purchase from either Memphis, Tenn. based Comp Performance company.
Certificates will be presented to drivers during the national awards banquet in November. They’ll be mailed the following week to powerplant suppliers.
"We have been able to recognize a diverse group of engine builders in the first two years of this program and plan on doing that again at the end of this season,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “The Comp Performance Group continues to grow and be a model of support for IMCA racers in all divisions."
Comp Cams’ contingency program also includes more than $10,000 in product certificates, to be awarded based on regional standings for Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks, and national standings for Late Models and both SportMod divisions.
An integral part of IMCA’s national Modified decal program since 2003, the engine component manufacturer again awards $1,000 to the top five drivers in each of the five regions for that division, in $300, $250, $200, $150 and $100 increments. Modified drivers are required to display two Comp Cams decals on their race car to be eligible.
Top three prizes in both Stock Car and both Hobby Stock regions will be given in the amounts of $300, $200 and $100.
National champions in the Late Model and two SportMod divisions earn $500 certificates, with $200 for second and $100 for third.
One driver from each of the five Modified regions and one driver from each of the two Stock Car regions get sets of RHS bare/as cast cylinder heads. Those recipients will be determined by random drawings held after point standings become official in October.
Drivers must compete with RHS-made cylinder heads, display two RHS decals on their race car and return sign-up forms to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1 to be eligible.
