425 Buick Nailhead Engine Kit
Vintage Classic Can See New Life With Complete Engine Kit and Components
It was 1963 when the guys at the Buick design center decided to punch out the 4-year-old Buick 401 block turn it into the 425 Nailhead for the the new “Sophisticated Hot-Rod,” the Riviera.
Egge Machine Company celebrates this awesome motor with a complete engine kit (p/n BU425M). The engine re-build kit comes complete with Egge American-made cast pistons, Rings, Valves, Valve Springs and Guides, Lifters, Pushrods, Rocker Arms (choice of steel or aluminum) Cam, Rod and Main Bearings, Cam and Crank Sprocket, and Timing Chain, Camshaft and either an oil pump or rebuild kit and complete Gasket Set.
The Egge 425 engine kit employs the American-made Egge cast piston, the L2195.
The L2195 piston made from the Egge "family-recipe" of high-silicone
A-332 aluminum, magnesium and titanium, features strutted pin bosses, a
raised head design and chromium steel pins. The pistons come in
standard bore of 4.3125˝, with .020˝, .030˝, .040˝ and .060˝ over-sizes available. As with
all Egge pistons, custom over-sizes are also available on request.
In addition to these internals, Egge can also supply the performance cams, Pertronix Ignitors, Moon finned aluminum valley covers, Offenhauser intake manifolds and finned aluminum valve covers to make this vintage classic a truly memorable restoration.
