EQ Drivers Nichols and Anderson Capture 2010 National IMCA Race Championships
Drivers Mike Nichols and Shannon Anderson captured International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) division point championships for 2010 using EngineQuest® (EQ®) cylinder heads in their race cars.
Nichols of Harlan, Iowa captured both national and Probe Industries Northern Region IMCA Sunoco Stock Car trophies for the fourth time in his career. He topped 29 features and earned three track titles in besting defending champion Dustin Smith. Anderson of Atlantic, Iowa became the first IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock driver to earn three straight national titles. Champion at two tracks, Anderson's 32 feature wins included his career 100th in the class.
"We congratulate both Mike and Shannon for a successful 2010 season using our cylinder heads," said Mark Moore, EQ’s national sales director. "Our cast iron cylinder heads have become the benchmark for maximum horsepower right out of the box, and we are extremely proud of the results all our drivers achieved this year."
EngineQuest® (EQ®), a supplier of stock and performance cylinder heads and engine components, is the title sponsor for the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour and a general sponsor of IMCA racing. In addition, EQ provided contingency awards to the opening feature winners in five IMCA divisions during the 2010 season.
EQ’s early 350 cylinder head (#CH350I) is approved as a direct replacement for the IMCA Northern and Southern Sport Mod Divisions and Hobby Stock division and has become the head of choice by the most competitive teams. EQ’s high performance 23° cylinder heads are used in both the Modified and Stock car classes with great results.
