New Pistons Designed for 5.300˝ Bores in 800 cid-plus Nitrous Engines
Just about everyone racing in Pro Mod, Mountain Motor Pro Stocks or one of ADRL's Pro Nitrous classes are now using 5.300˝ bore spacing blocks that accommodate bore diameters well over 5-inches. When you have a piston that large, revving that high, the strength-to-weight ratio is extremely critical. Ross has answered this design challenge with its weight-saving Forged Side Relief piston intended for 800 cid-plus nitrous engines. They feature full-length pin bosses that accept pin buttons for trouble-free installation and bulletproof reliability. These pistons are stronger than billet at a fraction of the price!
Available in bore sizes from 4.875˝ – 5.125˝, Ross has models that work with all popular 5.300˝ bore cylinder heads currently being sold. Many options are available to the engine builder including internal milling for increased weight reduction, radial or top gas porting and a number of different coatings.
