Valvoline's New Green Oil Line Made From 50 Percent Recycled
Ashland Inc.'s Valvoline brand has officially launched its new NextGen motor oil, a new formula made from 50% percent recycled oil that still delivers "100% Valvoline engine protection," according to the company.

“NextGen motor oil is great for engines and better for the environment, exceeding industry specifications with reduced environmental impact compared to non-recycled motor oil,” Valvoline said.
NextGen motor oil is produced using the company’s additive chemistry with recycled base oils 50% of the content comes from used, recycled motor oil. Valvoline scientists found that because base oil doesn’t completely wear out it simply gets dirty used oil can be re-refined and re-used. “Today’s re-refining technology has advanced significantly and now follows a technical process almost identical to that used for crude oil refining,” the company said.
NextGen conventional, high mileage and synthetic blend oil variants were available at major automotive retailers as of April 15, and are now being offered as an option at Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations.
