Berndt To Give Duramax Diesel Presentation at PERA Conference
Roy Berndt, program manager for LKQ Remanufacturing and regular contributor to Engine Builder Magazine, will present an informative educational session on the development and history of the Duramax diesel engine and its applications at the 2011 PERA conference held September 20-23 at Eagle Crest Resort in Ypsilanti, MI.
In his presentation, Berndt will explain the 5 “C’s” of casting proliferation cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft, connecting rods and camshaft as well as the peripheral components such as injectors and turbos.
Changes in the EGR system, rocker covers and oil pumps will also be covered giving you an overview of what the pitfalls and successes of remanufacturing this engine so you can avoid costly comebacks or premature engine failures.
Time allowing, Berndt will also present a quick overview of the 466 International Heritage diesel.
