If you remember about a year ago in the pages of Engine Builder, we highlighted a shop in Cleveland called Victory Engines. The title of that story was ‘To the Victor Go the Spoils.’ Foreshadowing being what it is, Victory Engines’ owner Ray Banyas has again claimed a victory by being named the 2016 Vintage Engine Builder of the Year.

Ray Field, owner of Dougans Racing Engines, in Riverside, CA, was named the 2015 Performance Engine Builder of the Year, sponsored by Speed-Pro POWERFORGED Pistons and Engine Builder magazine. Field was presented the fourth annual award by Engine Builder magazine editor Doug Kaufman at a press conference Friday at the Performance Racing Industry Show.

What do Ed Pink Racing Engines, Kroyer Racing Engines and NVR Racing all have in common? They are past winners of Engine Builder’s Performance Engine Builder of the Year Award. The contest returns again this year looking to crown a fourth winner of the award sponsored by Speed-Pro POWERFORGED Pistons.

NVR is a race-oriented engine shop that builds mostly circle track and drag vehicle engines. With more than 40 years in the industry, Tom Nickerson works with his wife Cindy handling mostly Chevrolet builds, as well as other nameplate engines. NVR was named the 2014 Performance Engine Builder of the Year and we took a look at its operation.
