Federal-Mogul Corporation’s Fel-Pro® PermaTorqueMLS®  multi-layer-steel performance head gaskets sealed the engines for nine of the  top 10 finishers – including race-winner Ryan Newman of Penske Racing – at  the 2008 Daytona 500.

The winners of dozens of NASCAR Cup, Nationwide  and Craftsman Truck series races, Fel-Pro PermaTorqueMLS head gaskets are  available for an extensive range of racing and passenger-car  applications.

Top 10 engines sealed with Fel-Pro MLS head gaskets at  Daytona included those in every Dodge (Fel-Pro p/n 1103L/1103R), Toyota (p/n  1180L/1180R) and Ford (p/n 1135) entry. The Fel-Pro brand also claimed  victories in the Nationwide Series Camping World 300, where it sealed the #20  Toyota driven by Tony Stewart, and in the Craftsman Truck Series Chevy  Silverado 250,  where Todd Bodine’s #30  Toyota Tundra took the  checkered flag.

“PermaTorqueMLS head gaskets have changed engine  sealing technology in Cup, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck series racing,” said  Fel-Pro Performance and Specialty Lines Product Manager Ron Rotunno.  “Introduced with the Dodge P7R5 engine platform, Fel-Pro’s MLS design has  grown to more than 125 part numbers for performance applications. Today every  Dodge, Ford and Toyota in NASCAR competition relies on Fel-Pro PermaTorqueMLS  head gaskets. This same technology is available right off the shelf for the  performance enthusiast and engine builder. ”

Fel-Pro PermaTorqueMLS  performance head gaskets feature multiple layers of full-hard stainless steel,  precise sealing beads and a proprietary aftermarket coating that allows for  lateral and vertical motion of the cylinder head without compromising sealing  performance. This is extremely important in severe operating conditions, where  high temperatures, extreme combustion pressure and rapid changes in engine RPM  are the norm. Federal-Mogul also offers an array of Fel-Pro PermaTorqueMLS  head gaskets for late-model passenger vehicle engines originally equipped with  MLS technology and others that are best sealed with an MLS solution in the  aftermarket environment.
