eBay Motors To Discuss Retail Internet Trends at Upcoming Big R Show

Rhodes will speak on Monday morning, November 1st, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The title of his presentation is “Retail Internet Trends in Automotive Parts in 2010.” He will explain the latest trends in the automotive industry online for 2010 and will also discuss who is buying parts online, and the things you need to do in your business to capture this growing segment of consumers buying parts online.

A broad assortment of other seminars will be held as well, including a full day of engine-specific seminars on Saturday, October 30, prior to the official opening of the show. ?Engine-building seminars will be scheduled as follows:

9:30-10:30 a.m. – Diesel Engines: Common Failures and Repair Strategies (presented by David Bianchi, B&G Machine, Seattle, WA).

10:45-11:45 a.m – Extending Rebuilt Diesel Engine Life Through Proper Cooling System Maintenance and Analysis (presented Mike Goodheart, Penray Companies, Elk Grove Village, IL).

1:15 – 2:15 p.m. – The Future of Diesel Motorsports Panel Discussion/ Roundtable (moderated by Ron Knoch, NADM, Kansas City, MO).

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. – Detecting and Preventing Early Engine Failure Through Proper Oil and Filter Analysis (presented by Danny Sparling, Oil Analysis?Lab, Belle Fourche, SD).

3:45 – 4:45 p.m. – Rebuilding and Machining Cat Diesels to Compete with OEM Dealers?(David Bianchi).

According to David Bianchi, engine  builders have a lot to offer in the heavy duty arena.  

“Engine builders have much to offer in this changing industry. We build engines whose components are made to run longer. We give the end user options. This competition is healthy for the industry and heightens the level of service for the end user,” Bianchi says.

“Our biggest challenge has been in marketing the product and differentiating," Bianchi says. "As an independent, it is important to identify the things that we can do that will make the engines more reliable. Today, we are competing with OEM backed exchange programs and a stronger network of distribution. Selling the differences requires an in-depth, hands-on approach to customers who need improved reliability.”
