PBM To Host Camshaft Design and Development Seminar at PRI

Noted speakers Steve Tanzi of Erson Cams and Darin Morgan of Profiler Performance will moderate an open discussion about cylinder head airflow and camshaft performance. Morgan and Tanzi will focus the discussion around how cylinder heads are affected by camshaft lift and duration and other factors that influence today’s racing heads and cams.

Darin Morgan has been porting cylinder heads for well over  20 years. He has specialized in Pro Stock cylinder heads since 1991 but his expertise in induction research and development is far reaching. Morgan’s cylinder heads and intakes have had positive results in the NHRA Pro Stock ranks with 23 race wins and over 140 top ten qualifying efforts. Morgan managed the cylinder head R&D program at Reher-Morrison Racing Engines for over a decade. Morgan is also dedicated to education and has taught over 20 engine building schools. He has given well over 15 seminars on wet flow dynamics, cylinder head and manifold design and induction system tuning. Currently Morgan is Research and Product Development Manager for Profiler Performance Products in New Carlisle, Ohio.

Steve Tanzi has been at the helm of Erson Cams for nearly 25 years and has provided the camshaft and related component development for numerous World Champions throughout his career. Steve has an extensive background in performance stemming back to the early ’70s as an ignition specialist for Mallory and The Performance People. In the 1990s and into the early 2000s, Steve was the Racing Services Manager for the Mr. Gasket Company and all of the seven companies that fly under that banner. He has given over 200 camshaft and valve train seminars throughout his career, covering everything from camshaft basics to how professional engine builder as well as crew chiefs select valve train components. Steve will be there to answer questions and relay what he has learned from his peers in his ongoing effort to grow our industry.

The seminar is free for PRI attendees. For information about attending the PRI Show, visit www.performanceracing.com.
