Lucas Oil Products Acquires Naming Rights to NHRA-Owned Indianapolis Facility

The multi-year track-entitlement agreement gives Lucas Oil Products naming rights to the facility, host of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil and the Kroger SpeedFest, which showcases NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series races as well as USAC and ARCA Series races during a single weekend.

Selected as one of the world’s top “12 Shrines to Speed” by RACER magazine, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis thrives as one of the busiest auto racing venues in the United States and features a world-class drag strip, .686-mile asphalt oval and 2.5-mile road course.

“We are extremely proud of the relationship we have developed with Lucas Oil Products over the years and are pleased to see the company expand its involvement with NHRA through this very important track entitlement,” said Tom Compton, NHRA president. “As the host of the prestigious Mac Tools U.S. Nationals and Kroger SpeedFest along with many other key auto racing events, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis is already recognized as one of the most tradition-rich and versatile multi-use motorsports facilities in the world.”

“We feel that it is very important for Lucas Oil Products to have major involvement with one of the nation’s busiest auto racing facilities that happens to operate right in our own backyard,” said Forrest Lucas, Lucas Oil Products president. “We have had great success marketing our products through a variety of NHRA platforms over the years, and we see great potential through this latest opportunity and take great pride in placing our company name on this historic racing venue, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.”

The commitment increases Lucas Oil Products’ involvement with NHRA. The company is the primary sponsor of one NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event, the Lucas NHRA Nationals, Aug. 18-21 in Brainerd, Minn., and the presenting sponsor for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. Lucas Oil also provides primary sponsorship to several stars in the Full Throttle Series, including Top Fuel drivers Morgan Lucas and Shawn Langdon, Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan and Pro Stock Motorcycle competitors Hector Arana and Hector Arana Jr. In addition, the company is the series sponsor of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and provides sponsorship support to many teams competing in that series.Lucas Oil Products President Forrest Lucas, left, and NHRA President Tom Compton unveiled the Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis logo.
