PERA’s 66th Annual Convention is scheduled for September 20-22 and this year will be held in Ann Arbor, MI.
“The final schedule is still being coordinated,” explains Nancie Boland, PERA Executive Vice President, “but this will be a very full meeting that our members and their spouses will not want to miss.”
Following the traditional PERA Golf Scramble on Tuesday, Sept. 20, an opening welcome reception will be held at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest Resort, from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 will include tours of Melling Engine Parts in Jackson, MI, and Mahle Clevite’s piston ring facility in St. John’s, MI. Evening activities will include dinner and entertainment in downtown Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan.
“Thursday, Sept. 22 will start with a group breakfast, then several educational sessions,” Boland explains. “Following this, we’ll have lunch, then travel to Troy, Mi, to tour Dart Machinery. We will also tour the Henry Ford Museum and dine at the historic Eagle Tavern in Greenfield Village. Then we’ll return to the hotel to signal the end of the conference. Attendees can depart at their leisure on Friday.”
Boland says other tours and complete speaker information is still being coordinated and will be announced in Engine Builder magazine and on the association’s website as it is finalized. For information about the convention, visit www.pera.org or call 417-998-5057.
