Elgin Industries has been certified to the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management systems standard, a global specification covering processes and practices necessary to limit environmental impact through significantly reduced energy and raw materials consumption and lower production of waste materials.
“Elgin Industries has always been a leader in engineering and manufacturing technologies, and now we’re taking a prominent role in the original equipment and aftermarket industries’ green movement,” said Elgin President Bill Skok. “Our employees, customers and the surrounding community all benefit from an organization that’s environmentally conscious. These processes also make us more productive and innovative, which ultimately enhances the value we provide to the market.”
ISO 14001:2004 is recognized in 159 countries as the industry standard
for environmental management systems. The certification was established
in 1996 to meet the growing need for an independently verified,
standardized measurement of an organization’s environmental impact.
