FIRM and APRA represent 22,000 remanufacturing employees in the European Union. Together they will boost the promotion of automotive remanufacturing.
Both boards approved a mutual membership. This step is expected to lead to a fruitful and effective alliance with an initial focus on lobbying the remanufacturing industry and their ideas and matters in Brussels.??"The cooperation is a big step forward to sharpen the image of remanufacturing in Europe," said Peter Bartel, chairman APRA Europe. Remanufacturing conserves up to 85% material and energy compared to the production of new parts. Worldwide material savings by remanufacturing saves millions of tons of natural raw material each year. Remanufactured automotive parts allow consumers to save money, because customarily the price is approximately 60% of a new unit.??
