APRA and ReMaTec Team Up for New Automotive and Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Show

The new show will be positioned as an annual kick off for the automotive aftermarket tradeshows in Las Vegas each Fall. The first edition will be held in Las Vegas NV, November 1-3, 2014

The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA), the global association for remanufacturers all over the world and Amsterdam RAI, owners and organizers of ReMaTec, the world’s largest remanufacturing show, have agreed to organize a new comprehensive show for automotive and heavy duty remanufacturing in the USA.

The first edition will take place in Las Vegas NV, November 1-3, 2014.

Big R / ReMaTecUSA
The new show, which is named Big R/ReMaTecUSA, is a continuation of the strong partnership between APRA and ReMaTec.

The new show has its origins in the International Big R Show, which has been around in Las Vegas for decades, in association with the highly successful ReMaTec show based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The new show will be positioned as an annual kick off for the automotive aftermarket tradeshows in Las Vegas each Fall.

The new partnership complements the ReMaTec Amsterdam show, which will still take place every odd year.

Important platform
APRA is delighted to strengthen its global partnership with Amsterdam RAI. Nick Staub, the Chairman of APRA in the US: “Together, over the past 8 years, we have created the premier remanufacturing exhibition in Europe and our combined strengths will now be directed towards the United States, the world’s largest remanufacturing marketplace. I’m confident that Big R/ReMaTecUSA will become a vibrant new part of the rapidly growing remanufacturing industry.”

Theo Lingmont, Director of International Exhibitions at Amsterdam RAI adds: “In recent years the ReMaTec show has become one of the fastest growing exhibitions within Amsterdam RAI’s portfolio. We’re delighted that we’re now able to extend the successful concept to the US in partnership with APRA and, hopefully, other partners in this important industry. We are excited about this significant opportunity and are confident we can help moving remanufacturing forward at a crucial time in its history.”

Remanufactured parts: booming business

Remanufacturing of engines, transmissions and other automotive parts is often seen as one of the fastest growing segments within the automotive aftermarket. Increasingly, more governments, authorities, organizations and businesses around the world are supporting remanufacturing for its unique combination of quality, sustainability, cost effectiveness and employability.

According to the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) report, the United States is the largest remanufacturer in the world, and between 2009 and 2011, the value of U.S. remanufactured production grew by 15 percent to at least $43.0 billion, supporting 180,000 full-time U.S. jobs. With a combined exhibition floor, seminar and networking program Big R/ReMaTecUSA will enable domestic and international players to gain access to this rapid developing market.
