This happens particularly when cars are used for frequent short trips. The filter does not reach the temperature required to start automatic regeneration and thus convert the soot in the filter to ash. This soot then clogs the filter, and, with a clogged filter, the car no longer runs. Liqui Moly DPF Protector reduces the minimum temperature the filter requires for automatic regeneration by more than 200°F. This allows the filter to regenerate even during short trips and remain free. Simply pour DPF Protector into the fuel tank.
