1,500 HP Turbo Mustang Runs 8-Second Quarter Mile

This Mustang is a freak of nature pushing out more than 1,500 hp. The car uses an improvisation of Ford's 5.0L Coyote V8.

This Mustang is a freak of nature. With more than 1,500 hp, it’s one of the most powerful cars we’ve ever seen; and it’s all street legal.

The car uses an improvisation of Ford’s 5.0 liter Coyote V8. However, this owner has increased the displacement to an “undisclosed” level. Employing a turbocharger delivering up to 21 pounds of boost and a huge trunk mounted intercooler to keep the apparatus running cool, this Mustang is certainly one worth examining under the hood.

Hitting the drag-strip, the car makes the quarter mile in about 8.15 seconds. And the best part? The license plate reads: TURBOSS.

These pistons are forged from 2618T aluminum alloy and machined on dedicated CNC machine cells to tight tolerances. 2618 aluminum has a lower silicon content than other alloys. That makes the pistons stronger and more ductile—perfect for high-load, high-stress applications like superchargers, turbochargers, or nitrous oxide.  Related Articles – Elgin OE Replacement MLS Head Gaskets

Fluidampr Harmonic Damper from Summit Racing Equipment

The factory harmonic damper on your modern GM, Ford, or Mopar V8 are ‘tuned’ to absorb what’s called torsional vibration in the engine’s normal operating RPM range. Performance modifications, particularly ones that increase torque, produce added vibration in an RPM range that the elastomer damper wasn’t designed to handle. That vibration will accelerate component wear,
