The E.R.I. Group has announced this year’s winners of the RICHARD MILLER EDUCATION AWARD. The award to provide financial assistance and encouragement to individuals who wish to further their education or training, has been presented to applicants from E.R.I. member companies for the past 15 years.
Jamie Munro, Rachel Rogers, Katie Siemens, Jackson Blonde, Marie-Pier Bélanger and Jonathan Gould were each presented with a $1,000 check to help further their education.
The E.R.I. Group is an Engine Parts Buying Group, serving Independent Machine Shops and Wholesale/Retail Jobbers across Canada. The E.R.I. Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Canadian Association of Automotive Engine Rebuilders Inc., a not-for-profit Corporation, meaning that E.R.I. is owned and controlled by the members. Our Mission is to assist our members to gain profitability, respect and market share in their respective trading area.
Jamie Munro of Kamloops, British Columbia is attending her third year of a five year Human Kinetics program in the Science/Physical Education department at Thompson Rivers University. A Degree in Human Kinetics will assist Jamie when she enters her chosen career as an Exercise Physiologist.
Rachel Rogers of Strathmore, Alberta is enrolled in her third of four years in the Arts Department at the University of Calgary.
Rachel’s goal is to obtain her degree to prepare her for a successful position in her chosen field of Political Science and Communications.
Katie Siemens of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is entering her fourth year in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. Katie is working towards her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in psychology which she intends to pursue as a career.
Jackson Blonde of Chatham, Ontario is entering in his second year at the University of Western Ontario, enrolled in the Neuroscience program in the Science Department. Jackson’s goal is to use his education in the field of neuroscience and biology, as a physician or in a career in medical research.
Marie-Pier Bélanger of Saint-Sulpice, Québec is entering the first of three years at the University of Québec in Montreal, majoring in Sociology. Marie-Pier’s goal is to pursue a career of teaching students with learning difficulties.
Jonathan Gould of Bathurst, New Brunswick is enrolled in his first year of a four year
Bachelor of Arts program in the Psychology Department at Mount Allison University. Jonathan’s goal is to achieve his dream of becoming a phychologist.
Richard Miller and the Selection Committee are very pleased to be able to help recognize deserving individual members of the E.R.I. family who are motivated to improve their potential for personal fulfillment and make a meaningful contribution to society. “We congratulate each of them on their success and wish them well in their chosen vocations.
