Sika Global Automotive announced the completion and opening of a 40,000 square foot expansion project at its Grandview, Missouri manufacturing facility. Additional space will allow more efficient supply base and logistic operations as well as enable the further addition of new technologies that will add to the supply base at the facility.

The expansion includes sustainability additions including motion controlled lighting and stable, climate controlled environments for material handling.  A wire-guided pick and place system and associated equipment has been added for more efficient material management, and to take advantage of the smaller space requirements required introducing maximum density space utilization.

“Expansion of facilities is in line with our strategy to enable efficient supply to our valued customers, supporting their lightweighting needs”, says Dave Jones, Head of Sika Global Automotive. “Further actions are in process to expand the Sika Automotive global footprint, strengthening our local supply throughout all regions supporting our customer’s global demands”.
