Robert Glynn, vice president and general manager of aftermarket operations for Lesjöfors Group, has announced the appointment of Jim Markle to this key role within the group’s US operation. Markle has many years of experience in the automotive aftermarket. He spent over fifteen years in various positions with RTI Technologies and MAHLE Aftermarket overseeing sales, marketing, product management, and strategic direction.

“We’re delighted to have Jim onboard and feel confident that with his skill set, experience and track record of success and integrity, he will support the transformation of our market position in the US and Canada. We are confident in our proposition and believe that Jim will convey this to the market with real success!” said Glynn.

Most recently before joining Lesjöfors, Markle was in charge of business development at MAHLE Service Solutions. He was recruited by MAHLE to return to the division he left seven years earlier (then called RTI Technologies) to head the commercial development and launch of a new automotive diagnostic tool, TechPRO. In his new role, Markle will lead the efforts of expanding Lesjöfors product sales throughout North America.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Lesjöfors team.” says Markle. “Lesjöfors is the market leader in Europe for good reason. The keys to success for increasing the presence of Lesjöfors in North America are in place: precision engineered and crafted OE quality suspension springs; expanding domestic and Asian coverage that complements a world-leading European product range; a new facility south of Scranton, Pa along the I-81 transportation corridor, and off-the-chart fill rates. I have been in the aftermarket many years and know the attributes of a great company. These fit Lesjöfors to a T.

Markle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from Lehigh University. Earlier this year Markle completed a University of Pennsylvania – Wharton School program focused on pricing and increasing customer value. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1991.

Lesjöfors was established in 1675 and produces the world’s largest range of coil springs for the automotive aftermarket. In addition to replacement coil springs, Lesjöfors also provides market leading ranges of Gas, Leaf and Sport springs. Lesjöfors Automotive customers are parts wholesalers and distributors, supplying components to the aftermarket worldwide.

Virginia legislators have introduced companion bills (H.B. 3 and S.B. 3) to repeal the Commonwealth's zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) mandates.

The legislation, filed by Delegate Tony Wilt and Senator Richard Stuart, follows SEMA's first-ever independent expenditure effort in Virginia's November elections around the state's attachment to California's emissions standards, including its impending zero-emissions vehicle mandates. The mandates would require that all sales of new cars and trucks be 100% zero emissions by 2035. However, earlier mandates start in 2026, with 35% of new vehicle sales required to be zero emissions.

Connecticut Withdraws Proposed IC Engine Ban

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has withdrawn SEMA-opposed regulation that would have required the state to adopt California’s strict motor-vehicle emissions laws and outlaw the sale of new gas- and diesel-powered cars beginning in 2035.  Related Articles – PennGrade 1 Hosts Paralympian and Top Sportsman Driver Matthew Stutzman at PRI – Stanadyne to Debut New Performance Product
