Banks Power has announced three new products for the 2013 – ’17 Ram 6.7L. These components are designed to maximize intake air flow, increase boost air density, and can be used together, or separately.

BANKS POWER RAM-AIR COLD AIR INTAKE

The Banks Ram-Air Cold Air Intake for 2013 – ’17 Ram 6.7L is tested and proven. This intake system starts out as a CAD software prototype and is put through flow simulations. After a hardware prototype is made, it’s tested on a flowbench. Then it’s tested on the vehicle. And finally, Banks’ density-tests the Ram-Air against stock and many competitors. Proven design. Proven performance. Thanks to its enclosed cold-air housing, huge inlet, giant dome-shaped lifetime filter and streamlined design, Banks Ram-Air Intake maximizes the flow of cool, dense air to the engine for greater power and fuel economy. It flows 50% better than stock-and delivers greater air density to the turbo’s inlet than the stock system and all competitors tested. Add on the optional Super-Scoop, and the results are even better! Longer service life, too. What’s more, Ram-Air is designed to not cause fault or error codes. It’s all about density. And Banks Ram-Air Intake delivers. The harder you work your truck, the more Banks Ram-Air Intake improves power and fuel economy.

BANKS POWER INTERCOOLER

“It’s Cool to be Dense” is a mantra at Banks Power where they recently introduced the Banks Intercooler for the 2013 – ’17 RAM 6.7L Cummins Diesel. Designed to eliminate airflow restrictions and increase boost air density, everything about the Banks Intercooler is bigger. It includes oversized mandrel-bent high flow boost tubes, larger diameter inlet and outlets for increased flow, Computational Fluid Dynamics designed cast aluminum end tanks providing uniform airflow into the intercooler core – a core that is 1.66 inches thicker than stock. The combined result is an overall 44% improvement in cooling volume flowing 53% more CFM than stock. In fact, the Banks Intercooler offers a 55% reduction in Pressure Loss over stock, which is almost double the reduction compared to their nearest competitor and with twice the mass over stock, the Banks’ Intercooler has a higher level of instantaneous and continuous cooling. The bottom line is – improving airflow lowers boost loss which increases air density and oxygen content of the air entering the engine. That amplifies power, lowers exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) and improves fuel economy. When EGTs are tamed, you no longer need to limit fuel delivery. Consequently, you get more power at any EGT. That’s why “it’s cool to be dense.”

BANKS POWER MONSTER-RAM INTAKE

When it comes to improving throttle response and MPG, the Banks Monster-Ram Cold-Air Intake for 2013 – ’17 Ram 6.7L is a beast. Leveraging Bank’s 59 years of racing engine airflow experience, the intake is engineered to eliminate airflow restrictions for improved throttle response, and to be far more-free flowing than the wimpy, restrictive stock intake, and those of the competition. Unlike Banks’ competitors’ designs, that have internal humps and bumps in the air flow path to clear the #1 cylinder injector line, the Monster-Ram uses an OEM quality custom fuel line that clears properly. Eliminating the need for humps and bumps, and smoothing the airflow. In a side by side flow test of 3.5” intakes, the stock unit flowed 432 CFM, the closest competitor flowed 798 CFM, while the Bank’s intake flowed a monstrous 906 CFM. This improved airflow allows the engine to respond more quickly to throttle input, and the increased efficiency improves MPG. The cast aluminum Monster-Ram intake deletes the EGR and throttle body, and is available with inlet size options of 3.5 inches (OEM size) or 4.0 inches. Available in red powder coat, or unpainted finishes. Get the Monster-Ram for monstrous performance.
