Holley has announced the release of MSD Ford Crab Cap Distributors, the solution to distributor-clearance issues in tight quarters from superchargers, air cleaners, and other large, bulky, components. Now available for three popular Ford platforms – 289/302, 351 Windsor, and 351 Cleveland – their sleek, low-profile design clears precious under-hood space by allowing the spark plug wires to exit out the side of the cap and not the top.
MSD Ford Crab Cap Distributors feature a maintenance-free magnetic pickup and a precision reluctor that delivers an accurate trigger signal right up to max RPM. An easy-to-adjust mechanical advance assembly creates a perfect timing curve and can still be locked out for crank trigger systems. Inside the CNC-machined billet aluminum housing and base, a polished steel shaft is QPQ-coated and guided by a sealed ball bearing, the advance plate and weights are fine-blanked from chromoly steel, and all advance-weight pins are staked and TIG-welded for maximum strength. They’re fully compatible with MSD ignition controls, a perfect fit for hydraulic roller cam applications, and come complete with a with a solid-steel distributor gear.
