DENSO Revs Up its Sponsorship for Las Vegas NHRA Race

DENSO Products and Services Americas, Inc., an affiliate of automotive supplier DENSO Corp., has supercharged its sponsorships for the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas. In addition to serving as the event’s title sponsor and the primary sponsor of Matt Smith Racing for the full season, DENSO is the primary sponsor of Clay Millican’s Top Fuel dragster and Greg Anderson’s Pro Stock Chevrolet throughout the April 16-18 competition at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“We are thrilled to expand our sponsorships for the Las Vegas race of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series,” said Fran Labun, vice president of DENSO’s Aftermarket Sales Group. “We’re especially excited to return to live racing as our company celebrates its 50th anniversary doing business in America.”

In the Top Fuel class, Millican will sport DENSO’s logo on the side panels of his Parts Plus dragster. Likewise, the DENSO trademark will adorn Anderson’s Chevrolet Camaro in the Pro Stock class.

The expanded sponsorships build on DENSO’s longstanding relationship with the NHRA organization, its teams and their fans. Over the years, DENSO has been a product sponsor of many drivers and teams. DENSO has served as the title sponsor of the Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas every year since 2016, and its sponsorship of Matt Smith Racing dates back to 2017 when DENSO first signed on as Angie Smith’s lead sponsor for five weekend contests. As the relationship grew, DENSO became the primary sponsor of the entire team: Matt Smith, Angie Smith and most recently, Scotty Pollacheck.

All five racers are tough competitors and ride with the power of DENSO spark plugs. All finished the 2020 season in the top 10 standings for their class, with Matt Smith capturing his fourth NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world championship.

At every event, DENSO welcomes fans to Nitro Alley, the midway where they can learn more about and purchase DENSO’s premium Iridium TT, Iridium Power and Iridium Racing spark plugs. DENSO also posts its own race and product updates on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube throughout the series.

For more than half a century, DENSO has sponsored world-class motor sports around the globe. DENSO products are among the precision original equipment and replacement auto parts widely used by professional racing teams on every circuit, as well as everyday motorists on the road worldwide.
