Fluidampr Performance Diesel Dampers For Duramax L5P

New Fluidampr Performance Diesel dampers for the Duramax L5P and High Strength Bolt Kit are available through quality parts distributors and professional engine builders.

Fluidampr has announced the release of two new Duramax L5P performance diesel dampers. Part number 830141 fits 2017-2019 model years, $587 MSRP. Part number 830151 with dual pulley is for 2020-present model years, $714 MSRP.

“We’re excited to bring you this new product release,” says project lead, Nick Orefice. “Fluidampr has extensive experience with the Duramax L5P engine. Variations of this damper have already seen widespread use by the United States military in their latest high performance light tactical vehicles. Now it’s ready for all out street performance and professional competition use.”

Both dampers are finished in a corrosion resistant black zinc chromate, then laser engraved with a timing mark, Fluidampr – Made in the USA logo, and SFI 18.1 credential. A pre-drilled 3/8”-24 UNF on 3.200 B.C. bolt pattern allows for an accessory pulley, custom mandrel drive, and damper installer/remover tool use. Duramax L5P damper 830151 for 2020-present models feature a hard coat anodized aluminum fan pulley in this mounting.

Fluidampr High Strength Bolt Kit, part number 300010 is recommended for proper installation in performance applications. The kit contains a diamond-plated friction washer and an ARP high strength bolt. Combined these help ensure a secure connection to the crankshaft and protects against fretting. New Fluidampr Performance Diesel dampers for the Duramax L5P and High Strength Bolt Kit are available through quality parts distributors and professional engine builders.

Fluidampr Harmonic Damper from Summit Racing Equipment

The factory harmonic damper on your modern GM, Ford, or Mopar V8 are ‘tuned’ to absorb what’s called torsional vibration in the engine’s normal operating RPM range. Performance modifications, particularly ones that increase torque, produce added vibration in an RPM range that the elastomer damper wasn’t designed to handle. That vibration will accelerate component wear,
