Bonnier Events Adds Kyle Cunningham to Motorsports Team

Bonnier Events, producer of the Off-Road Expo, Sand Sports Super Show, Street Machine Nationals and 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals, has hired longtime motorsports professional, Kyle Cunningham, in the role of Special Features Manager. Cunningham will work closely with each of the aforementioned motorsports entities within the Bonnier Events portfolio, focusing on event features.

Cunningham, who will be based in the Indianaplis area, helped manage the infield motorsports program at both of the 4-Wheel Jamboree events this past season.

“We are thrilled to have Kyle join our team,” said Jonathan Moore, Executive Vice President, Events, Bonnier Corp. “Kyle has a great grasp of our Motorsports events and will bring a fresh perspective and many new ideas to our brands going forward. Our motorsports portfolio continues to build momentum as we head into the 2022 season.”

Cunningham brings over a decade of motorsport industry experience to the Bonnier Events team. He has previously worked in account management, marketing, and event activation roles with clients such as the U.S. Army, RAM, Jeep, Pennzoil, Mopar, Oakley, 5.11 Tactical, New Era, Rotella and Quaker State, among others.

The Indiana native has led and contributed to a variety of strategic events such as trackside activation at the NASCAR Pennzoil 400 race, grassroots activations at Roadkill Nights and Bantam Jeep Fest as well as VIP off-road excursions at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari. Cunningham understands the value of business to business relationships as well as business to consumer dealings.

“I’m excited to join the Bonnier Events team,” said Cunningham. “I am a gearhead at heart. My first car was a 1967 Camaro and I enjoy taking my Jeep JKU off-roading. I feel right at home with muscle car and off-road events and look forward to building entertaining events with Bonnier.”

The Indiana State University graduate, who studied automotive technology and motorsport management, began his motorsports career at Don Schumacher Racing, serving in a variety of roles in marketing and account management at the drag racing powerhouse.

The 2022 Motorsports season opens for Bonnier Events with the Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin, IL, June 24-26.

Virginia legislators have introduced companion bills (H.B. 3 and S.B. 3) to repeal the Commonwealth's zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) mandates.

The legislation, filed by Delegate Tony Wilt and Senator Richard Stuart, follows SEMA's first-ever independent expenditure effort in Virginia's November elections around the state's attachment to California's emissions standards, including its impending zero-emissions vehicle mandates. The mandates would require that all sales of new cars and trucks be 100% zero emissions by 2035. However, earlier mandates start in 2026, with 35% of new vehicle sales required to be zero emissions.
