Measuring concentricity requires quality tooling and Goodson offers a Valve Concentricity Gauge that makes it easy. This gauge is accurate to .001″ and features a positive stop — set it once and do an entire set of valves.

It is recommended that the valve concentricity gauge should be used before grinding to eliminate needless cleaning and machine time and again after valve refacing to ensure the stem is still concentric. You can also use this gauge to check pilots and other small parts.
