Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket Relocates, Expands North American Operations

To better accommodate its continued growth and expanding potential in the North American market, Schaeffler today announced plans to relocate and expand its Automotive Aftermarket operations. Groundbreaking for its new 250,000 square-foot facility in Strongsville, Ohio – approximately five miles from its current operation in Valley City – began recently. Schaeffler expects its new facility to be operational in the third quarter.

“Our new Strongsville facility represents the growth of our North American Automotive Aftermarket operation,” said Jerry Conroy, Vice President Automotive Aftermarket USA & Canada at Schaeffler. “The new facility consolidates aftermarket activities under one roof and managed inhouse to better address our customers’ increasing orders and expanding requirements. Additionally, being close to Cleveland will help with future recruiting as we anticipate growing our local team in the future.”

In addition to providing more space – adding almost 110,000 square feet – the Strongsville warehouse distribution center will feature a redesigned layout to improve material flow from inbound to outbound to increase efficiency. This will better support increasing customer requirements such as express ordering and the ability to process small and large orders more efficiently.

The state-of-the-art facility will include modern office areas to provide more collaborative space that foster teamwork. Furthermore, the consolidation of operations to the new facility will help contribute to Schaeffler’s target of climate neutrality by eliminating internal transports, thereby helping reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

Schaeffler anticipates a smooth, seamless transition to the new facility for employees and customers. The new address will be made public closer to the move-in date.

Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket division focuses on worldwide spare parts business and providing intelligent repair solutions for professional repair of passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles, and tractors. Under the product brands LuK, INA and Schaeffler, the company offers transmission, engine and chassis applications respectively. Additionally, its REPXPERT service brand provides comprehensive services to garages by conducting technical trainings, offering repair assistance via a hotline and a garage portal, and by developing special tools.

Virginia legislators have introduced companion bills (H.B. 3 and S.B. 3) to repeal the Commonwealth's zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) mandates.

The legislation, filed by Delegate Tony Wilt and Senator Richard Stuart, follows SEMA's first-ever independent expenditure effort in Virginia's November elections around the state's attachment to California's emissions standards, including its impending zero-emissions vehicle mandates. The mandates would require that all sales of new cars and trucks be 100% zero emissions by 2035. However, earlier mandates start in 2026, with 35% of new vehicle sales required to be zero emissions.
