It’s the Diesel Revolution

Each year, for the past six years now, I’ve covered more diesel content than the year before, and for good reason.

I’ve said this many times now – the diesel world continues to grab more and more of my attention. Each year, for the past six years now, I’ve covered more diesel content than the year before, and for good reason.

Whether it’s attending more diesel events, or getting more involved in our Diesel of the Week series, or our Mild vs. Wild diesel video series, or the topics we cover in our AMSOIL Garage videos (shout out to AMSOIL’s Mark Nyholm), or more feature writing like what we do in this issue every year, we’ve been putting a lot of effort into showcasing you diesel guys and gals.

Of course, it’s not just those things. I feel I’ve become more ingrained in the diesel community as well thanks to friendships with engine builders like Drew Pumphrey, Jeremy Wagler, Jared Alderson, Cass Choate, Tony Burkhard, and Jesse Warren, and guys like Johnny Gilbert, Ryan Milliken, Lavon Miller, and so many more. Not to name drop here, but these are guys who have instilled their passion for diesel in me as well through visits to their shops, or conversations at events or on the phone, and the result is more coverage of one of the more progressive segments of the automotive industry. Whether it’s in print, digital, social, or video, we love covering what’s happening in the diesel engine world.

It seems new diesel records are being set every month, and as you’ll see in this issue, and in past issues, the diesel world isn’t slowing down or remaining stagnant. It’s been growing and going forward at a pace equal to the ETs out there on the dragstrip, or the four-digit horsepower figures on the dyno. Every aspect of the diesel truck has been evolving by leaps and bounds, and I’m here for it.

Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam 2024 just went down about a month ago, which typically signifies the start of the diesel race season, and the big event up next is the 2024 Ultimate Callout Challenge, which I always look forward to attending, and you should too. Go visit the great city of Indianapolis, IN and take in what these diesel trucks are capable of on the track, on the chassis dyno and in the truck pull. Or, just buckle up and read through the diesel issue of Engine Builder. We hope you enjoy it! EB
