Women with Drive Event Planned for 2024 Pikes Peak

Women with Drive event will feature a panel discussion and reception at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs on June 21.

Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA) and Parity, the sports marketing and sponsorship platform dedicated to closing the gender income and opportunity gap in professional sports, have announced the latest edition of their collaborative event series Women with Drive: Pikes Peak, presented by RBC Wealth Management. The event will celebrate that for the first time in history, the PPIHC will feature six women drivers: Mary Barker, Ryan Cheek, Laura Hayes, Katherine Legge, Kathryn Mead, and Loni Unser.

The event will feature an exclusive panel and reception on June 21 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 100 notable industry leaders, race car drivers, and executives. Parity CEO Leela Srinivasan will moderate the panel discussion and will include Laura Hayes and Loni Unser (both scheduled to compete in the race) as well as Kate Brim (2x World Champion, handcycling) and Sammy Schultz (Olympian, modern pentathlon).

The discussion will touch on various topics, including the continued growth of women’s sports, women athletes as leaders and competitors, opportunities to continue equal representation, and the future of women in racing. Additional event sponsors include Yokohama Tire, Toyota of Colorado Springs, Porsche, and Mobil 1.

“We’re honored to continue our partnership with Parity and RBC Wealth Management for our second reception and panel discussion during this historic moment of women racers participating in the 102nd running of the PPIHC. Our shared commitment to gender neutrality perfectly aligns with WIMNA’s efforts to enable and advance careers for women,” says Cindy Sisson, executive director. “The afternoon will be engaging, informative and entertaining in the iconic venue of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum.”
