Liberty Engine Parts Hosts Tech & Skills Conference

AERA recently teamed up with Liberty Engine Parts to offer a regional Tech & Skills Conference on February 25th with presentations from several different aftermarket manufacturers and brands.

The conference was held at Liberty Engine Parts’ 42,500 sq. ft. Charlotte location. 41 different vendors displayed at the conference with over 200 in attendance.

The one-day conference included technical presentations by Race Winning Brands’ Bryce Mulvey (“Choosing the Correct Performance Connecting Rod”); Total Seal Piston Rings’ Lake Speed Jr. (“Motor Oil is the ‘Gasket’ in Your Cylinders”); Melling Engine Parts’ Cale RIsinger and Tim Foster (“Valve Spring and Oil Pump Selection”); and Dan Beagle of MAHLE Aftermarket (“Engine Bearing Failures”).

Guests were treated to plenty of technical tips and information, including the benefits and compromises of various connecting rod designs, getting the correct surface finish on the cylinder wall to promote oil retention, the advantages of beehive and conical valve springs, high pressure vs. high volume oil pumps, and the root causes of engine bearing failure.
