Jobs of the Week – April 16-20

It's tough to find good help sometimes, especially when it comes to technical jobs like those in the engine building industry. We want to help you find those qualified, skilled employees that will better your business. Here are the available jobs this week.

– Hartmann Bros. Inc. in Abilene, TX is in need of a crankshaft grinder operator and an automotive machinist.

These are salary DOE positions with benefits such as paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, 401k.

– Construction and Mining Services in Pittston, PA is looking for an experienced machinist and engine mechanic for large diesel engines.

– Performance Crankshaft Inc. in Ferndale, MI has an employment opening for a machinist specializing in crankshafts. Must have 3 years grinding experience and references.

– Skip White Performance in Kingsport, TN is in need of a telephone sales and customer support person.

The shop needs someone who is devoted to answering the phone, quickly making the sale or solving the customer’s problem, and moving on to the next call in an efficient and polite manner. Knowledge of high performance auto parts is a plus, but the shop is more interested in someone who has telephone sales experience, who is teachable, who will stay on the phones, and who will treat customers with courtesy and respect.

Hours will vary Mon. through Fri. to cover shifts from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some Saturday work may be required. Compensation: $11-$14/hour DOE, with commissions on selected products after probationary period.

Requirements/Duties of the Job:

Experience in telephone sales.
Good telephone manner.
Answering calls from current and prospective customers.
Treat all customers with respect at all times.
Knowledge of high performance auto parts, Gen 1 era a plus.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to explain products to potential customers.
Accuracy in recording customer information (name, address, phone, e-mail address).
Taking orders accurately by phone, following established processes & procedures.
Entering orders in proprietary sales system.
Locating tracking information for customers through FedEx system.
Processing credit card payments by phone.
Troubleshooting issues with orders (missing items, processing returns, etc.)
Other duties as assigned
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation a must. No drug use tolerated.

– J&K Engines in Mount Juliet, TN is in need of an engine disassembly and simple routine shop maintenance person.

This is a full-time job if you are a hard worker. Consists of diesel engine disassembly and simple routine shop maintenance. Must have a great work ethic and a strong back to apply for this position.

Connecticut Withdraws Proposed IC Engine Ban
