The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has announced a new program called NHRA D.R.A.G., designed to cultivate, grow, and improve drag racing announcing talent across NHRA’s Member Track Network.
The program will be held virtually online and feature classes led by Brian Lohnes, the lead broadcaster for the NHRA on FOX. Classes will be held in video conference style with the option to be viewed at a later time. Additional professional announcers, track operators, and topical guests will also be announced.
D.R.A.G.—Drag Race Announcers Group—was formed in memory of the late Dave McClelland, who had an announcing school decades ago. For more information, visit the NHRA announcement here.
In addition, NHRA has also announced Mady Ayesh has been named the NHRA’s South Central Division (Division 4) Division Director. She becomes the first female division director in NHRA history and will oversee member tracks in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
