In this episode of Engine of the Week, we’re talking about an AMC AMX engine build done by Rhyne Competition Engines in Gary, IN. To kick off the new build, the shop’s GM Mike McKinney says all they could use was the customer’s original 390 cubic inch block, which they stroked to 442 cubic inches.

Rhyne Competition Engines prides itself on being a rather diverse shop capable of working on performance, marine and off-road engines, so when a customer brought in an AMC AMX engine, Mike McKinney was excited to dive into the project.
