Edelbrock Announces New Race Center

One of the most successful partnerships in the racing industry expands to create new capabilities with the Edelbrock Race Center.

One of the big announcements at PRI came from the Edelbrock booth when CEO Don Barry revealed plans to open the new Edelbrock Race Center in North Carolina. While Edelbrock corporate headquarters and manufacturing will still be based in Southern California, this new East Coast facility will be focused specifically on machining Edelbrock Cylinder Heads for racing and will expand Edelbrock’s partnership with Mooresville, NC-based Pat Musi Racing Engines. Edelbrock is no stranger to the state of North Carolina with its carburetor manufacturing and distribution center located nearby in the city of Sanford.

“We’re extremely excited to advance our line of racing-specific products through this expanded relationship with Pat Musi and his team. We’ve been working with Pat for a number of years and his racing experience is extremely valuable to our product development. The new Edelbrock-Musi Signature products are designed to perform at the highest level under even the harshest conditions.” — Don Barry

Also at the 2019 PRI Show, Centroid CNC conducted live demonstrations on how an Edelbrock cylinder head is machined on the state-of-the-art A590 machining center that will be part of the new Race Center operation.

Pat Musi has been involved with Edelbrock for more than 20 years and has been a great asset in the development of Edelbrock’s current line of race-oriented cylinder heads. “Edelbrock has always had the capability to do race heads. I saw that back when I first visited the [Edelbrock] foundry with Vic,” said Musi. “Now I’m finally seeing it come to fruition. Edelbrock is really good at making high-performance heads for the street, but we need to be involved in racing.” To-date, the eight-time Pro Street World Champion has collaborated with the Edelbrock team to develop numerous products including the M3 Nitrous Nozzles, Victor Musi Big-Block Chevy CNC cylinder head and a line of crate engines including the Edelbrock/Musi 555 and 632.

Pat is well known for building big-inch competition engines for Top Sportsman and PDRA Pro Nitrous racing. Centroid’s John Cowher said, “We’re very excited to be associated with Pat Musi and Edelbrock as the supplier of choice for moving cylinder head porting program to where it should be.”

The Edelbrock Race Center will be in operation by early 2020.
