Holley Performance Announces its Participation in the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour

While Holley’s display trailer will be present at every stop, its most exciting stop will be the Holley sponsored checkpoint at Birmingham, AL, on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

Throughout the day in Birmingham, Holley and Mothers Polish will be sponsoring an autocross in the parking lot of Hoover Metropolitan Stadium (only open to registered participants) for those that would like to hone their technical driving skills. That same day at their display trailer from 3:30 p.m.to 4:30 p.m., kick off Holley’s birthday celebration with cake (while supplies last) and check out the latest in automotive performance.

Holley has a number of new LS products to share with participants and will be handing out special anniversary posters for participants. Also be sure to check out the latest in self-learning EFI technology with its brand new Terminator EFI systems. There will be a Terminator EFI equipped small block Chevrolet engine on an Easy Run Engine Stand for those interested in seeing how simple the system sets up and self-learns on an engine.

At least two Terminator EFI equipped vehicles will be present on Power Tour and will be parking in front of Holley’s display trailer for the duration of the event so participants can examine the system installed on actual vehicles. In conjunction with Hot Rod magazine, one lucky Power Tour participant will be the benefactor of a live, on Power Tour Terminator EFI install.

Additionally, two of Holley’s employees will be present on Power Tour with their personal LS equipped project vehicles. Engineering tech Luke Embry will be driving his 1984 Chevrolet C10 Silverado pickup.  Lucas has installed a GM LS 5.3L engine with the help of Hooker mounts and headers, Holley’s LS Accessory drive system, a Holley Mid-Rise intake, and Holley LS valve covers. A Holley Dominator EFI unit controls the engine and shift points for the transmission.

Marketing and PR coordinator Blane Burnett will have his LS2 powered 1996 Nissan 240SX along for the duration of the trip as well. Burnett swapped his four cylinder for the more stout 6.0L GM LS2, utilizing an engine swap mount kit and headers from Hooker Headers. The engine features Holley LS valve covers and Holley LS fuel rails along with AN hoses and fittings from Earl’s Performance Plumbing. Holley’s Dominator EFI is also responsible for controlling the engine and drive-by-wire throttle body.

Participants should pay close attention to the Holley Performance Facebook page throughout the week as they will be giving away “birthday gifts” to lucky long haulers during the event through that social media outlet. Holley will be looking for Power Tour participants to share photos of various Power Tour vehicles that are on-site at the various stop locations each day. The photo requests will vary in nature each day so make sure to look at Holley’s posts each morning and see what is being asked for before posting. A winner will be selected each day and announced on stage in the afternoon at each stop. Winners will be able to pick up their gifts at the Holley display trailer.

All participants have a chance to walk away from the Power Tour stage each evening with a new Holley product in hand as the company will be participating in the afternoon stage giveaways that take place at every stop.
