Anyone planning to attend the Production Engine Remanufacturers Association’s Annual Conference in Toronto this fall is urged to remember one simple fact when making travel plans: Canada is a foreign country and a passport – and perhaps even a travel visa – is required.
“We urge all of our members and guests to be certain their passport is current,” say Joe Polich, PERA Executive VP. “If you’re driving in, either the card or the passport book is acceptable. But if you’re flying to Toronto, you’ll need the complete passport book.” The Annual Convention will be held at the Hilton Toronto, September 21-23. Hotel reservations can be made HERE .
If you are not a citizen of the US or Canada, you may be required to obtain a visa. Effective March 15, 2016 you might be able to substitute an electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Check with the CIC website for information on eTA.
If you require a visa or eTA, an invitation letter is needed with your application. A special event code of 16PERA has been assigned by Canada’s Citizenship and
Immigration Department. For more information about the invitation letter or the Annual Convention, call PERA at 817-243-2646.
