Race Engine Challenge Resets Charlotte Dyno Dates

In order to accommodate the schedules of builders and technical presenters, the staff at the Race Engine Challenge (REC) has moved the date of the second annual American Iron 2-valve Shootout Race Engine Challenge presented by VP Racing Fuels and Lubricants forward two weeks, to the week of September 16-19, 2019.
“We’ve listened to our engine builders and by popular request we are moving this year’s racing contest forward two weeks to the week of September 16th,” said Greg Finnican, event founder and coordinator. “We are also going to be adding to our tech conference (tech talk) this year for those who want to come listen to the sounds, rub elbows and learn more that week than anywhere possible.”

Finnican says Charlotte is the ideal location for the Race Engine Challenge and the dyno location is only seven miles from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. “There’s a wide range of hotels, dining options and shopping all within a five minute walk, and Charlotte’s Center City and the NASCAR Hall of Fame are only a short ride on the light rail, boarding just a half block from the dyno testing location.”

In addition, Finnican says the Race Engine Challenge is reserving one spot for a “show and tell” engine.

“If a builder has an engine that may not meet the rules, but would like to show it off and maybe get a featured article in Engine Builder, send in your application. All contest applications will remain open until March 1st.”
