NTK Named Entitlement Sponsor of NHRA NTK Carolina Nationals

NTK will serve as entitlement sponsor of the NHRA NTK Carolina Nationals Oct. 11-13 at zMAX Dragway. The race is the third Countdown to the Championship event in the NHRA’s six-race postseason.

The 12th edition of zMAX Dragway’s spectacular showcase of nitro-fueled excitement and nail-biting championship drama has a new name. NTK, a line of premium technical sensors and a division of NGK Spark Plugs, will serve as entitlement sponsor of the Oct. 11-13 NHRA NTK Carolina Nationals.

NTK’s sponsorship comes on the heels of NGK Spark Plugs having sponsored the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway for two years.

The third race in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series’ six-event Countdown to the Championship promises to offer drivers cool October temperatures – providing the potential for track-record speeds when nitro-powered Top Fuel and Funny Car machines scorch zMAX Dragway’s pavement in search of a coveted Countdown triumph.

“We are excited to add the NTK Carolina Nationals as a complementary event to our NKG 4- Wides sponsorship with Charlotte Motor Speedway,” stated NGK Spark Plugs USA, Inc., VP of Aftermarket – Brian Norko. “We expect the same success we’ve gained with our NGK product line to translate over to our premium sensor line at NTK. It’s only fitting that we showcase our world leading brands as the kick-off and finale for these two, world-class NHRA events at zMax Dragway.”

The NHRA NTK Carolina Nationals roars to life with the first night of qualifying on Oct. 11. Every ticket is a pit pass, giving fans unmatched access to the drivers and crews who tame the 10,000- horsepower machines and push them to their limits after the tree illuminates.

“Charlotte Motor Speedway is privileged to have NGK Spark Plugs support one of the NHRA’s premier playoff events,” said Greg Walter, the speedway’s executive vice president and general manager. “NTK offers race fans the ultimate in technical sensors and I sense a lot of excitement emanating from the Bellagio of drag strips when racing gets underway in October.”

TICKETS: Tickets, camping and upgrades to the NHRA NTK Carolina Nationals can be purchased at the gate or in advance by calling 800-455-FANS or online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/tickets
