Rematec Director Niels Klarenbeek Promoted to Director METSTRADE

Having organized nine Rematec shows on three continents over the past 10 years, Niels Klarenbeek, director of Rematec at RAI Amsterdam, has been promoted to director of the METSTRADE portfolio. Klarenbeeks’ new position will be effective as of April 16, 2020. Klarenbeek continues to lead the Rematec Asia exhibition for the 2020 and 2021 editions.

“Having worked for – and with – the remanufacturing industry for a decade, I consider to have made many industry friends along the years,” says Niels Klarenbeek. “I am honored to have played my part in organizing Rematec as a tradeshow and I have enjoyed investing lots of energy into its development to maturity. Rematec Amsterdam became internationally recognized as the world’s leading trade platform for automotive parts remanufacturing. And our inaugural Rematec Asia in Guangzhou underlined the great potential for our events in South East Asia. Over the past years, I have had the privilege of working with an exceptional team of dedicated professionals – within RAI and in the industry – who inspired me to keep raising the bar every edition. Together we proved that combining knowledge and enthusiasm with passion for an industry can move mountains. With launching our first Rematec Asia in October 2019, I could not be prouder of what we have achieved and I am now ready to focus on my new role at METSTRADE.”

In his new role, Niels will lead RAI Amsterdam’s METSTRADE events on leisure marine equipment. The successful 32nd edition of METSTRADE in 2019 welcomed almost 2,000 exhibitors from 53 countries and the number of visits totaled 26,984 from 122 countries.

“We are exceptionally grateful to Niels for all that he has done for Rematec,” says Bas Dalm, executive vp exhibition & sales RAI Amsterdam. “His boundless energy, passion and dedication to the industry have really put Rematec on the map. Niels established an amazing network and brought together stakeholders from across the globe. Where he leaves the remanufacturing industry, the leisure marine world is set to have a very dedicated new addition to their field of expertise.”

The Rematec team aims to continue the maturity and quality standard achieved in the recent years and RAI Amsterdam will be looking for a worthy successor to achieve this. Until that time Exhibition & Sales Manager Yorien de Ruijter will take over current responsibilities, while Brand Marketing Manager Evelien Feijen will continue to be the first point of contact for press and communication matters.
