PERA Postpones 2020 Convention

PERA President Matt McGraw addressed association members in a letter recently where he said:

The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our
families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of
life. During this time, I wanted to reach out and update you
on the PERA conference for 2020 in Greenville, SC.
First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who’s
been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our
thoughts are especially with those who are sick; we extend
our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. We’re truly inspired
by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who
are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in
need.

That being said, we are unfortunately postponing this
year’s convention to September 2022. No one wants to
do this, but we are left with no choice. I’m looking forward
to St. Louis in 2021 and please stay safe during these difficult times.
Best regards, Matt McGraw, PERA President

Program Planning Committee Chairman, Dave Monyhan also commented:

Due to all of the recent issues concerning the ability to
gather this group in this great country of ours, I believe it
prudent that we in fact delay our convention this year an
re-group for having this conference in 2021.

I too am concerned that if we just do a conference to do a
conference then we are not really performing at the levels
we are charged with producing. I know I will miss not seeing everybody in one place, but I also respect the fact that the health of self, family and of all of our businesses should be foremost in our minds and decision making.

I look forward to speaking to all of you in some manner as
we get through this pandemic and wish you all to stay
healthy, stay busy, stay profitable and also to stay off my
lawn.
Respectfully, Dave Monyhan, Chairman Planning Committee
