Utica-Rome Speedway Listed For Sale

Utica-Rome Speedway, the historic, 1/2-mile clay oval in Central New York, has been listed for sale.

Located in Vernon, New York, the multi-use facility sits on over 100 acres of land and regularly features DIRTcar Racing, Super DIRTcar Series, Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, Ollie’s Bargain All Star Circuit of Champions, and more series.

Current track owner Tom Cole is handling the sale, which was announced on the track’s social media pages last week. Cole had taken over ownership from Bill and Kim Shea earlier in the year. Before this, Cole’s father, Gene Cole, and the Cole family owned and operated the dirt track since 2002.

Utica-Rome Speedway first opened in 1961 as an asphalt track before getting transformed to dirt in the 1980s. At the time of the announcement, there were no scheduled events for 2021.

The sale will include all equipment, including tractors, facilities and the track pace car. To inquire about the track sale, call Tom Cole at 315-404-3562 or visit uticaromespeedway.com.
