Melling Names Executive Vice President, Introduces Two New Hires

Melling Engine Parts announces long time Melling employee Thomas Trosin as Executive Vice President, plus the addition of two new key employees.

Mark Melling has announced that 25+ year employee Thomas Trosin will be Executive Vice President of Melling.

“Tom has been with the company for many years and has worked closely with all departments to grow the business. His experience and knowledge of the industry is valuable in this new role as we continue our manufacturing growth plans for the future.”

Jim Stark has been hired as the new purchasing manager and will be based in the company’s Jackson, MI plant. Stark brings 20 years of successful materials and supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment. He has a strong focus and background with scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, material planning, logistics and shipping, as well as ISO-TS 16949  & ISO 14001 operating procedures.

“Jim is an excellent addition to our staff as we look to expand all of the Melling Manufacturing divisions, not only with aftermarket parts, but our entire portfolio of manufacturing capacities” noted Trosin.

Stark is a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in Purchasing and Operations Management.

Jeffrey Schaerer has been hired as the new product manager and will also be located in the Jackson, MI manufacturing facility. Jeff comes to Melling with 22 years of automotive aftermarket experience at Mahle Clevite where he was an engine parts product manager.

Schaerer has 25 year master certification status with ASE, as well as being a certified master automobile technician, certified in advanced engine performance, certified automobile parts specialist, certified undercar specialist, and a licensed master automotive mechanic in the state of Michigan.

“Jeff’s combined credentials and experience will be extremely valuable to the Melling organization as he begins his new position with us,” said Chuck Barnett, Vice President of Sales.
