South Boston Speedway (VA) Announces Special 65th Anniversary Events

South Boston Speedway—the 4/10-mile asphalt oval in South Boston, Virginia—will celebrate its 65th anniversary this year with special events.

South Boston Speedway—the 4/10-mile asphalt oval in South Boston, Virginia—will celebrate its 65th anniversary with a pair of August events, starting with the Davenport Energy Night event on Saturday, August 6, when the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division competitors will battle in twin 65-lap races.

Also on the schedule is a 50-lap race for the Budweiser Limited Sportsman division, a 25-lap race for the Southside Disposal Pure Stock division, and a 20-lap race for the Virginia State Police HEAT Hornets division. Then, fans will get a “glimpse into the past” with the Southern Ground Pounders Vintage Racing Club competing in high-horsepower vintage Modified and Late Model Sportsman vehicles for a 25-lap race.

The Italian Delight Family Restaurant presents South Boston Speedway’s 65th Anniversary Celebration event is set for Saturday, August 20, and will feature twin 65-lap races for the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division competitors and a 65-lap race for the Budweiser Limited Sportsman division.

Also scheduled is a 25-lap race for Southside Disposal Pure Stocks division, a 20-lap race for the Virginia State Police HEAT Hornets division, and the East Coast Flathead Ford Racing Association, which will wheel vintage cars in a 25-lap race.
